Jens Müffelmann is the Chief Operationg Officer for 200 portfolio companies in the newly established Marketing and Classifieds Division as well as Chief Executive Officer of Axel Springer Digital Ventures GmbH at Axel Springer since June 2014. Prior to this role Jens was Head of Electronic Media. Jens has been with Axel Springer since 1997. Jens graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Berlin and with an MBA from Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey and Fordham University, New York. Jens eared his Ph.D. in Organizational Science at the Helmut Schmidt University (University of German Federal Armed Forces Hamburg) and Columbia University, New York. Until 1997 Jens worked as a top management consultant for Roland Berger & Partner, Berlin/Hamburg. In 1997 Jens joined Axel Springer in the Corporate Strategy Division. In 1999 Jens became Head of Corporate Strategy and Development and held several managing director positions in Axel Springer portfolio companies. In 2004 Jens was appointed as Head of Electronic Media being responsible for the internet, television and radio portfolio of Axel Springer.
